Planning a fandom trip across regions without burning out

Written by Rena S.

The temptation on a first big trip is to do everything — Akihabara, Koshien, Niseko, an Okinawa dojo — in ten days. The shinkansen makes it tempting and the map makes it look easy. It isn't, and the cure is to anchor your trip on two or three regions, not seven.

Pick a fandom that leads. If anime leads, base in Kanto and Kansai and let sports or music be the spice. If snow leads, build around Hokkaido or the Japan Alps and add city days on the way. The regions are different countries of mood; give each one room to breathe.

This is exactly the kind of question our concierge answers over WhatsApp or Instagram — not to book your trip, but to help you shape it before you do.
